Emirates announces an increase in capacity to Australia.

Emirates announces an increase in capacity to Australia.

Emirates has announced that all flights to Sydney starting on November 4 would be flown by A380 aircraft. The action is a part of the airline’s attempts to improve connectivity and capacity for customers and to give travelers additional options. Emirates can commit to around 2,000 additional weekly seats with the upgrade to its double-decker aircraft on its third daily route, beginning 4 November 2023, despite the fact that all three of the airline’s slots at Sydney Airport are now in use. The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft now used for EK 416 and 417 will be replaced by this service. With a three-class layout and 489 seats, the improved Emirates A380 service will more than double the daily passenger capacity. This improvement will enhance access to several international locations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa as well as links to and from Dubai. It improves the two current Sydney A380 four-class services, which include Emirates’ most recent Premium Economy cabin. With 63 weekly routes and approximately 56,000 seats connecting its four main gateways, Emirates is already a big player in the Australian aviation sector. There are three daily flights to Melbourne and Sydney, two daily flights to Brisbane, and the airline’s flagship A380 service to Perth. The airline has also started up its A380 between Sydney and Christchurch and Melbourne again and restored services between Melbourne and Singapore. Go back to Adelaide By allowing the airline’s fleet to increase and freeing up more of its long-range aircraft to serve locations like Adelaide, the debut of the Emirates Airbus A350 in the summer of 2024 will facilitate further expansion of the airline’s worldwide network. As part of its commitment to reuniting travelers from every region of Australia with its network, the airline is in close contact with Adelaide Airport regarding the restart of nonstop services. At 2130 hours, the third Sydney A380 flight will leave Dubai and land in Sydney at 1820 hours local time. The return flight takes out from Sydney at 21:10 and lands in Dubai at 04:30 local time. Emirates continues to increase the A380’s deployment to fulfill the rising demand for travel throughout the world. The airline already serves over 50 cities with its flagship A380, and more cities are expected to receive the aircraft in the upcoming months. This September, Hong Kong's renowned "Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance" will return.

This September, Hong Kong’s renowned “Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance” will return.

This Mid-Autumn Festival, Hong Kong’s iconic Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance returns, reigniting the fires of this revered tradition for the first time since 2019. The extravagant dance, which is slated for three nights in a row from September 28 to 30, 2023, will involve more than 300 artists parading a magnificent 67-meter-long dragon through the orderly streets of the quaint Tai Hang area. An extended viewing area to accommodate more spectators will be set up along Wun Sha Street and Tung Lo Wan Road, as well as a special performance by next-generation dragon performers. There will also be an LED giant flower plaque with a dragon head near the entrance for photos. The recently opened Tai Hang Fire Dragon Heritage Centre, which offers an intriguing look into the 143-year-old custom, is another place where the history and significance of the occasion may be learned during the day. A group of knowledgeable and trained crafters work tirelessly for over a month to hand-craft the dragon using materials including pearl straw, rattan, and hemp rope. The dragon’s body is made up of 32 segments and is covered in 12,000 lit incense sticks; the head weighs 50 kilos. This blazing, smokey extravaganza can only be seen in Hong Kong, giving it a singular exhibition. Guardian of the Ancient Flame The Fire Dragon Dance first appeared more than 140 years ago when Tai Hang struggled to deal with the plague’s effects on its farming and fishing communities. A village elder was given instructions to build a dragon decorated with burning incense sticks and parade it around the streets to save the hamlet in a stirring dream. Since then, the ritual has been carried out annually with its unique style and has become one of the most significant cultural events in Hong Kong, with the dance being listed on the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. We are overjoyed that the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance will be back this season after a four-year absence and are looking forward to inviting locals and others from around the world to join the festivities. We are proud that traditions like ours will always exist as we pass the legacy on to the next generation as the dance is more than just a performance to us, says Cheung Kwok Ho, Almon, the acting commander in chief of the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance and a native of Tai Hang. A Center for Commemoration and Preserving The recently inaugurated Tai Hang Fire Dragon Heritage Centre, located at 12 School Street in a Grade 3 Historic Building, enhances the celebrations. The museum hosts exhibitions and has a café serving meals influenced by the mouthwatering cuisine of the Hakka people, who were Tai Hang’s original settlers. Vice Chairman Anthea Lo explains that the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Heritage Centre is a celebration of the excitement of the Fire Dragon dance and offers intriguing insight into the dance’s history, traditions, and intangible cultural heritage as well as Hakka culture. “The Center is housed in a historic building that dates back to the late 1940s and is a great example of urban revitalization that serves as a living link between the local community of today and the historical traditions of the fire dragon dance.” The City’s Spectacular Nighttime Show The Mid-Autumn Festival in Hong Kong offers a variety of joyful nocturnal festivities that are not to be missed, in addition to the Fire Dragon Dance. Families will congregate along the sparkling harbourfront and in parks decorated with spectacular decorations and lighting displays to enjoy the glow of the moon and indulge in celebratory mooncakes. The city will be illuminated by hundreds of lanterns that will be placed across the city. Everyone is invited to Hong Kong to experience the Mid-Autumn Festival’s magical atmosphere. At Lufthansa Group, Kneissl Touristik invests in sustainable aviation fuel

One of the first Austrian tour companies to invest in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for flights with Austrian aircraft and other Lufthansa Group aircraft is Kneissl Touristik. The family-run business (Kneissl Touristik – sabtours Group) invests in sustainable aviation fuel with the money that clients donate in July and August 2023 to offset the CO2 emissions of their travels. This SAF amount is used by the Lufthansa Group’s airlines to cut back on the CO2 emissions associated with flying. With this investment, Kneissl Touristik and the Lufthansa Group’s airlines are making significant progress toward more environmentally friendly air travel. In comparison to fossil fuel, Austrian Airlines’ Sustainable Aviation Fuel cuts CO2 emissions by about 80% over the course of its lifecycle. It is made of biogenic residues like discarded cooking oils. Increased production of fuels derived from renewable sources that have even greater potential for reduction is planned for the upcoming years. Sustainable aviation fuel is still not widely available, and it costs three to five times as much as fossil fuel. One of the biggest SAF consumers in the world, Lufthansa Group utilized 5% of the SAF produced worldwide in 2017. The independent Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) approved the Lufthansa Group’s CO2 reduction objective (minus 30.6 percent of specific CO2 emissions by 2030) in August 2022. With a scientifically supported CO2 reduction target in line with the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement’s objectives, the Lufthansa Group was the first airline group in Europe. The Lufthansa Group invests in expedited fleet modernization, ongoing flight operations optimization, the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel, and offerings for individual and corporate clients to make their air travel more environmentally friendly in order to attain the goal of CO2-neutral aviation by 2050. Bangkok will host "The Extraordinary Travel Festival" from November 15–17, 2024.

Bangkok will host “The Extraordinary Travel Festival” from November 15–17, 2024.

The second Extraordinary Travel Festival (ETF) will be held in Bangkok, Thailand on November 15–17, 2024, according to Ric Gazarian. He designed The Festival to bring together the most ardent, accomplished, and daring “mega” travelers from around the world for three days of experience exchange and education. Less than 300 people living today are known to have visited all 193 sovereign nations in the world, an accomplishment that will be discussed by speakers and attendance. The festival will also be open to travelers who have different travel goals and aspirations. The Extraordinary Travel Festival in Bangkok will feature more than 20 speakers who will interact with, educate, and motivate other guests through a mix of keynotes, breakout sessions, and panels. “Consider the world’s contemporary Marco Polos gathered in one place,” said Gazarian, whose website @GlobalGaz contains tales and photos from his fascinating journeys to 170 nations. “The first event was unlike anything I’ve ever seen in terms of energy, enthusiasm, and the vast knowledge exchanged about traveling and country-collecting.” Thor Pedersen, who recently completed a nearly 10-year journey to every country without using a plane, @Barry Hoffner, who has built 17 schools in the legendary city of Timbuktu, and @Renee Bruns, who has traveled to more than 130 countries in a wheelchair, are just a few of the truly outstanding speakers taking the stage in Bangkok. The biggest mega-travel clubs, such as @Every Passport Stamp (20,000 members), @NomadMania (50,000 registrations), and @Travel Massive (60,000 members), will also be present at the event. “By gathering us in one location, we can share our methods for guiding and motivating the travelers who follow us, which will grow this great community of mega-travelers. Many of us go alone, but we are not the only ones who want to share the word about the eye-opening benefits of going farther, farther, and more frequently,” Gazarian continued. The ETF is building on the inaugural event’s enormous success, when 100% of attendees said they would attend the next one and invite their friends. Despite the fact that North America and Europe accounted for 90% of attendance and presenters, people from all six continents attended the Extraordinary Travel Festival. Men and women were split 60/40, with ages ranging from 20 to 80. Along with the packed speaker schedule, participants will also be amused with jovial gatherings and a formal dinner. Bangkok will offer countless dining alternatives and has been dubbed the “capital of the world’s street food.” Participants will also have the choice of touring greater Bangkok and the surrounding area. Thailand was recognized as the “Best Tourist Country” in 2023. The most successful and knowledgeable travelers from all around the world can be reached and engaged through this travel event, according to Gazarian. Also encouraged to enquire about sponsorship options are tourism boards, consumer travel companies, and tour operators who seek to engage with or assist bookings with this extraordinary group of travelers.
