Icelandair introduces eSIM Go to the global jet set of mobile data.

As a “Powered by Breeze” partner, Icelandair will be introducing its new eSIM mobile data services, according to eSIM Go. The Icelandic flag carrier takes advantage of the chance to maximize customer loyalty and success as well as create extra money by being the second international travel brand to sell Breeze eSIM mobile data bundles from eSIM Go. Customers of Icelandair benefit from the co-branded Icelandair and Powered by Breeze offering of Breeze’s mobile data packages, which offer better quality, choice, and convenience for use during layovers, upon arrival, and onward to more than 150 countries and regions. “We’re extremely pleased to welcome Icelandair aboard and look forward to collaborating closely to drive strategic value above and beyond eSIM bundle sales,” said Mitch Fordham, CRO and Co-Founder of eSIM Go. Selecting eSIM Go and our ready-made Powered by Breeze modeI offers transatlantic travelers an attractive offer that allows them to jump start their eSIM potential quickly. However, the deeper strategy—which we support with data analytics, application whitelisting, and other platform features—focuses more on extending these customer engagements than it does on achieving rapid results. This collaboration is entirely consistent with Icelandair’s core values, which include innovation, providing excellent customer service, and never sacrificing quality. Icelandair’s main hub is Reykjavik, which puts it in a unique position to provide one-stop transatlantic connections to and from a variety of destinations in North America and Europe. These are routes that are likely to attract a high concentration of passengers who are influenced by their home mobile operators’ exorbitant roaming charges to look for low-cost, high-quality eSIM alternatives that are more suited to their travel requirements. In addition, Icelandair is dedicated to providing a more consistent customer experience through digital channels like its website and mobile apps, and it sees eSIMs as a means to do so. Director of Products and Services at Icelandair, Helga Huld Bjarnadóttir, stated: “Our goal at Icelandair is to provide our customers with an outstanding digital customer experience.” As a result, we are thrilled to provide eSIM data packages that will allow our customers to maintain connectivity throughout their travels. We are delighted to collaborate with eSIM Go, and we are dedicated to providing our passengers with exceptional connectivity while they are on the go. Source- Travel daily

Business Events Industry Aotearoa Limited has received Toitū net carbonzero accreditation for MEETINGS 2023, New Zealand’s largest trade fair for the business events sector. Lisa Hopkins, CEO of BEIA, adds that everyone at MEETINGS should be proud of this accomplishment.”Not only through their sustainable practices, but also in supporting the local community, our 220 exhibitors, 500 buyers, our venue, Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre, our partners and suppliers, and host city Wellington all played vital roles.” For this premier event, BEIA, the official association for the sector, is dedicated to the long-term measurement, management, and reduction of greenhouse emissions. It is our responsibility to set the standard for sustainable practices and make them the foundation of everything we do. Hopkins states, “We now have the foundation to work toward ongoing carbon emission reduction for MEETINGS and future improvements year over year with the certification of the Itū event.” In cooperation with Toitū, BEIA created a plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions during the three days of June 2023 MEETINGS 2023 in Wellington. It included using Air New Zealand’s FlyNeutral program to offset the air travel emissions of all hosted buyers and event staff, encouraging exhibitors and day buyers to do the same, encouraging attendees to bring reusable bags and water bottles, reducing the amount of printed material and digital assets used by exhibitors and media partners, encouraging attendees to walk to the venue, and replacing gifts from hosted buyers with donations to local charities, such as Kaibosh Food Rescue, Gillies McIndoe Research, and Wellington Zoo. The approach was bolstered by exhibitors who employed eco-friendly packaging, minimized waste from single-use items, designed reusable generic and digital signage choices, distributed eco-friendly and biodegradable presents, and made arrangements for donated or replanted plants used on booths. According to Tobias Tripp, Marketing Communications Manager at Toitū Envirocare, obtaining this event certification is a sign of accountability and duty. “It enables BEIA to take decisive, confident action to minimize carbon emissions in addition to understanding the environmental impact of MEETINGS through rigorous measurement techniques and objective third-party certification. “Toitū sets MEETINGS apart as a model of sustainability and guarantees that environmental claims are made with assurance and integrity,” the speaker states. EFTA extends its reach to include a pilot pipeline.

EFTA extends its reach to include a pilot pipeline.

There are almost 120 graduates from the current batch of 290—23 nationalities and 27 women—who are already employed by Emirates as full-time pilots. These aspirational and driven individuals are cadets of the Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA), forming the next generation of pilots vital to the aviation industry. EFTA, which was founded with an emphasis on the national cadet pilot program for Emirates, currently provides cadets from all over the world with their top-notch instruction. In addition to the amazing success of its grads, all of whom were hired by Emirates following a rigorous hiring process, the academy is soaring thanks to the incorporation of three brand-new Diamond planes into its training curriculum. The cadets range in age from 17 to 26 years old, however the bulk are fresh high school graduates. As a matter of fact, an Emirates cabin crew member has fulfilled the rigorous qualifying requirements of EFTA and is now a cadet. “EFTA is fully focused on establishing a reliable stream of pilots for the aviation industry, which has been staring at scarcity in the short to long term,” stated Captain Abdulla Al Hammadi, Divisional Vice President of Emirates Flight Training Academy. “We are providing ambitious cadets with a visionary academy based in an iconic and one of the safest cities that is also one of the largest aviation hubs on the planet.” With over fifty highly qualified teachers and the support of Emirates, the largest international airline in the world, we offer one of the most advanced cadet training programs available. Seeing the unity and cooperation among our cadets as they graduate with the greatest levels of abilities and competences needed by commercial pilots, ready for the real world, is encouraging. The Diamond DA42-VI light piston twin-engine aircraft, which has successfully introduced multi-engine piston training at the academy, is currently another aircraft that EFTA’s cadets fly. Essentially, this implies that cadets receive training on light jets with one, two, and three engines. Among flight training academies, which typically train cadets on one or two types of aircraft, this is an unusual occurrence. Instructors from EFTA will be available to discuss details of the Academy’s fleet and cadet training program while the organization displays its Diamond DA42-VI and Cirrus SR22 aircraft at the Dubai Airshow. Following the epidemic, occupations in flight deck have experienced a significant upsurge in demand. Aviation is becoming a more sought-after vocation due to factors such as rising salaries, fast-paced career paths, rapid airline expansion, sophisticated aircraft, and rising travel demand. Oliver Wyman’s most recent research indicates that by 2026, there would be a 24,000 pilot shortage compared to the current deficit of roughly 17,000 available pilots. In order to provide UAE citizens and foreign students who have never flown before with flight training, Emirates introduced EFTA in 2017. Every graduate has the exclusive chance to go through the hiring process at Emirates. Modern fleet of 29 training aircraft, including 4 Embraer Phenom 100EV very light jets, 3 Diamond DA42-VI light piston twin-engine aircraft, and 22 Cirrus SR22 G6 single-engine pistons, are combined with state-of-the-art learning technology at the Academy. Spread across 12.5 million sq.ft (1.2 million sq.m), or 200 football fields, EFTA’s state-of-the-art complex houses 36 contemporary classrooms, 6 full motion flight simulators, a separate air traffic control tower, and a 1,800-meter runway. Cadets reside on campus in individually designed studio apartments that are completely furnished and offer an excellent array of social events, recreational opportunities, and fine food. Ground school (52 weeks): Two 86-inch touchscreens with custom training software designed just for EFTA are installed in each of the 36 classrooms. Cadets receive at least 1,100 hours of instruction on the ground, and they use their own digitally connected devices to access the curriculum in an interactive learning environment. During the 52-week, 272-hour Flying Phase, cadets receive training on three different types of training aircraft and simulators. These are the words of two EFTA alums Who are presently Cadet Pilots With Emirates:  Australian native Thomas Saunders, a cadet pilot with Emirates, stated: “I’ve been fascinated by how these big machines could stay in the sky from a very young age, and that has led me down the most amazing career path.” One excellent way to get a job at the top airline in the world is through Emirates Flight Training Academy. Additionally, I believed that an airline with such high standards and a strong focus on quality would inevitably provide the greatest mentoring and training in the aviation industry. My intuition turned out to be correct. “The EFTA cadet group is incredibly close-knit and cooperative. Our training brings out the best in us and positions us for a long, fulfilling, and prosperous career. All the necessities are conveniently located near your home, and the facilities and infrastructure are quite magnificent. “It felt like a dream when I took my first flight. I had only ever dreamed of this: it was just me in control, nature at its most beautiful, and the breathtaking Dubai scenery below me. Prospective cadets thinking about a career in aviation should persevere and embrace the ups and downs since the experience shapes character and the results are beyond anything you could have imagined. Australian citizen Jordan Engeler, an Emirates cadet pilot, stated: “I’ve always had a deep fascination for the aviation industry and the sense of freedom it offers.” I found it immensely fascinating to think that I could pilot a highly advanced aircraft, travel the sky, and see the world from a different angle. The three main aspects of EFTA that I cherished were its world-class training facilities, knowledgeable and encouraging instructors, and a diverse and welcoming community. In the aviation sector, Emirates is well known for its remarkable dedication to excellence, innovation, and safety. These ideals are shared by EFTA, which also provides an excellent training program that exactly matched my goal of becoming a highly experienced pilot. With its cutting-edge facilities, contemporary fleet of aircraft, and knowledgeable instructors, EFTA provided the perfect setting

Steep Approach Certification

Steep Approach Certification for London City Airport Operations is granted to Embraer’s E195-E2

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has certified Embraer’s E195-E2, the company’s most sophisticated jet to date and a cleaner, quieter next generation aircraft, for steep approach into London City Airport. This accomplishment, which permits airlines to use the E195-E2 at London City Airport (LCY), which is renowned for its difficult approach and short runway, is a noteworthy breakthrough. Both E2 family members are now authorized for operations from LCY, along with the E190-E2, which obtained Steep Approach certification in 2021. The remarkable noise reduction of the E195-E2 among modern single-aisle aircraft was brought to light during the certification procedure. It provides a much quieter flying experience than the E195 model since it exceeds the severe standards of ICAO’s Chapter 14 regulation. The E195-E2 will assist the locals by reducing noise because its takeoff noise footprint is around 60% less than that of modern jet aircraft, like the E190. The environmental performance of the E195-E2 goes beyond noise reduction. Comparing the aircraft to those of prior generations, the latter produces lower emissions and better fuel efficiency. Embraer and Pratt & Whitney successfully tested an E195-E2 aircraft in 2022 utilizing 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), which may eventually increase the emissions reduction to 85%. The E195-E2 made its initial landing at the airport in July 2022 during a test flight. Short-haul travelers prefer LCY, London’s most central airport, which serves both business and leisure travelers and provides easy access to continental Europe. The airport is an essential part of London’s greater connectivity, and a significant share of LCY operations on destinations as varied as Edinburgh and Mykonos are flown by Embraer aircraft, which are specially designed to handle the demands of LCY operations. Aircraft must adhere to the strict noise limits, short runway, and steep approach in order to serve LCY. The present E190 fleet that current airlines operate at LCY may be replaced by the E195-E2. “The certification of the E195-E2 signifies an exciting new era for London City Airport,” said Alison FitzGerald, Chief Operating Officer of London City Airport. We are excited for our airlines to begin commercial operations of the E195-E2 at London City Airport, as it is a testament to our commitment to work closely with aircraft manufacturers to certify cleaner, quieter, new generation aircraft. Its capacity to handle more passengers while being significantly quieter and more fuel efficient.” London City holds great significance for Embraer, offering a unique experience in many aspects beyond its well-known 20-minute commute from kerbside to gate, according to Marie-Louise Philippe, Vice President Sales & Marketing and Head of Region for Europe and Central Asia at Embraer Commercial Aviation. With 85% of all aircraft movements occurring at the airport, Embraer aircraft predominate. This is because of the aircraft’s performance, which minimizes weight without requiring the blocking of seats. We are pleased that most airport operations are carried out by Embraer aircraft, which are unparalleled in their ability to manage the harsh conditions of LCY. We eagerly anticipate the E195-E2 joining the fray. Source- Travel daily
