The popularity of vacation rentals among visitors to Asian countries is predicted to rise in the near future, with an 84% increase in 2023 from 2022, according to global travel media startup Trip101, which curates and recommends the world’s best vacation rentals and hotels.
Along with the US, Asia also showed a rising trend for the typical number of nights rented by visitors in vacation rentals, reflecting the preferences of tourists. The number of nights increased by 0.5, or 20%, from roughly 2.5 to 3.
The average booking value in Asia increased 20% from pre- to post-pandemic years, following the lead of the US and Europe. Given that it suggests consumers are willing to pay more for extended stays and improved experiences, this trend is positive.
By making remote employment possible, the pandemic sparked a profound change in lifestyle and travel choices. People can now work from anywhere, giving them the freedom to adopt a more flexible travel style, fusing work and pleasure, and discovering new places while upholding professional obligations. As a result, new travel trends like workation, bleisure travels, and digital nomadism have emerged.
