Starting from September 25, 2023, the Kingdom of Thailand will implement a policy of visa exemption for tourists originating from the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Starting from September 25, 2023, the Kingdom of Thailand will implement a policy of visa exemption for tourists originating from the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The five-month stimulus visa policy, which will remain in effect until 29 February 2024, has been implemented with the objective of assisting in the achievement of this year’s tourism income target of 2.38 trillion Baht. The temporary tourist visa exemption scheme has been announced by the Royal Thai Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. This scheme will be applicable to passport holders from the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Kazakhstan, and will be in effect from 25 September 2023 to 29 February 2024. The primary objective of this initiative is to meet the tourism revenue target of 2.38 trillion Baht for the current year. During the designated five-month period, individuals of Chinese and Kazakhstani nationality will be eligible for a temporary visa exemption in Thailand. This exemption will allow them to stay in the country for a duration of 30 days, specifically for the purpose of tourism. According to Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, an official from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the stimulus visa plan is a component of the government’s Quick-win initiatives, which were declared on September 11, 2023. The objective of these measures is to accomplish long-term goals and enhance the Thai economy by promoting travel and tourism. This initiative is expected to enhance the influx of tourists from China, a significant source market for Thailand’s tourism industry, as well as from Kazakhstan, a developing market. This effect is particularly anticipated during the upcoming peak tourist season. In conclusion, the revival of Thai tourism will ultimately contribute to the achievement of the income objective established for the current fiscal year. During the designated time of visa exemption lasting five months, it is anticipated that Thailand will receive a projected number of Chinese tourists ranging from 1,912,000 to 2,888,500. This represents a year-on-year growth rate of approximately 41-62%. Consequently, the tourism sector is predicted to produce a revenue of approximately 92.58-140 billion Baht. According to the projections made by Thailand, there is an anticipated influx of 129,485 tourists from Kazakhstan. This figure represents a substantial growth of 49.73% compared to the same period in the previous year. Additionally, it is estimated that this surge in tourist arrivals would generate a revenue of 7.93 billion Baht for Thailand. According to Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the implementation of the “ease of travelling” strategy will result in time and cost savings for tourists in terms of visa application and fees. This, in turn, is expected to facilitate the decision-making process for potential travelers considering a visit to Thailand. The implementation of the visa exemption plan in Thailand is projected to result in the arrival of around 4.04-4.4 million Chinese tourists by the year 2023. This influx of tourists is expected to contribute to the attainment of the projected revenue objective of 257,500 million Baht. Between the dates of 1 January and 10 September 2023, Thailand documented a total of 2,284,281 visitors originating from China, establishing China as the second most prominent contributor to the country’s tourism industry, surpassed only by Malaysia. In the absence of the visa exemption scheme, it is projected that Thailand would receive around 3,470,430 Chinese tourists in the year 2023, which accounts for approximately 31% of the total number of Chinese visitors recorded in 2019. This influx of tourists is predicted to create a revenue of approximately 174,358 million Baht for the country. The implementation of the stimulus visa scheme coincides with the commencement of the Golden Week, a significant holiday period in China, spanning from 1st to 8th October 2023. During the weeklong holiday in China, various airlines have declared their preparedness to conduct charter flights, augment flight frequencies, and establish additional routes connecting cities in China and Thailand. These routes include Chengdu – Samui, Beijing – Chiang Mai, Guangzhou – Chiang Mai, Shanghai – Chiang Mai, Shanghai – Phuket, Guangzhou – Phuket, and Kunming – Hat Yai. According to Thapanee, it is anticipated that the visa exemption scheme will contribute to a projected influx of 180,000 tourists from Kazakhstan to Thailand by the conclusion of the current year. Between the dates of January 1st and September 10th, 2023, Thailand experienced an unprecedented influx of 108,636 tourists originating from Kazakhstan. Phuket is a highly preferred travel location among travelers from Kazakhstan. The anticipated extension of the visa exemption program to Chinese and Kazakhstani travelers is projected to contribute to the revitalization of Thai tourism, aiding in the achievement of the current year’s objective of attracting 25-30 million tourists and generating 2.38 trillion Baht in income. The policy is anticipated to contribute to the expansion of tourism till 2024, aligning with the government’s strategic focus on utilizing tourism as a pivotal driver of the Thai economy and positioning Thailand as the preferred choice for global travelers. 5 Essential Travel Tips for Exploring the Rich Cultural Heritage of Japan

Introduction Are you ready to embark on a journey of discovery and immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Japan? From ancient temples that whisper tales of centuries gone by, to bustling city streets buzzing with modern innovation, Japan offers a travel experience like no other. But before you pack your bags and hop on that plane, it’s essential to arm yourself with some valuable tips to make the most out of your adventure. In this blog post, we will share five essential travel tips for exploring the captivating cultural wonders that await you in Japan. So grab your sense of curiosity and let’s dive right in! Do Your Research When it comes to exploring the rich cultural heritage of Japan, doing your research is essential. By taking the time to learn about the country’s history, customs, and traditions before your trip, you’ll have a deeper appreciation for the sites and experiences that await you. Start by familiarizing yourself with Japan’s major historical periods such as the Heian era or Edo period. Understanding these periods will give you valuable context when visiting temples, castles, and museums. Additionally, delve into Japanese etiquette and social norms. For example, did you know that it’s customary to bow when greeting someone? Or that slurping noodles is not only acceptable but considered a sign of enjoying your meal? Researching local customs can also help you avoid inadvertently causing offense. For instance, in some places it may be impolite to wear shoes indoors or speak loudly on public transportation. Furthermore, learning about popular tourist destinations like Kyoto or Tokyo can help you plan your itinerary more effectively. Discover must-see attractions such as ancient temples like Kinkaku-ji or vibrant neighborhoods like Shibuya. Be Respectful Respecting the cultural norms and traditions of Japan is essential when exploring its rich heritage. This not only shows appreciation for their customs but also allows you to have a more immersive experience.  One important aspect of being respectful in Japan is following proper etiquette, such as bowing when greeting someone and using honorifics like “san” after someone’s name. Additionally, it’s crucial to be mindful of personal space and avoid loud or disruptive behavior in public places. Another way to show respect is by dressing appropriately, especially when visiting temples or shrines. Wearing modest clothing that covers your shoulders and knees demonstrates reverence for these sacred sites. Furthermore, understanding the concept of tatemae (public face) versus honne (true feelings) can help navigate social interactions respectfully. It’s common practice in Japan to maintain harmony by not expressing negative emotions openly. Respecting local customs means adapting to different dining practices. For example, slurping noodles is considered a compliment to the chef, while leaving chopsticks sticking upright in a bowl is seen as disrespectful. By being respectful during your travels in Japan, you will not only gain a deeper understanding of their culture but also create positive connections with locals along the way. Learn Some key Phrases Learning some key phrases in Japanese can greatly enhance your travel experience in Japan. While English is widely spoken in major cities and tourist areas, venturing off the beaten path may require a basic knowledge of Japanese. Plus, locals will appreciate your effort to communicate in their language! Start by learning common greetings such as “Konnichiwa” (hello) and “Arigatou gozaimasu” (thank you). These simple words can go a long way in establishing rapport with the locals. Additionally, familiarize yourself with essential phrases like “Sumimasen” (excuse me) and “Eigo ga hanasemasu ka?” (Do you speak English?), which will come handy when seeking assistance. If you’re planning to explore historical sites or interact with traditional artisans, it’s beneficial to learn specific vocabulary related to that field. For example, if visiting a temple or shrine, understanding terms like “Omamori” (protective charm) or “Goshuincho” (stamp book) would enrich your experience. There are various resources available for learning Japanese phrases before your trip. Online language courses or smartphone apps offer interactive lessons tailored for travelers. Consider carrying a pocket-sized phrasebook too; it’s convenient for quick reference on-the-go. Remember that pronunciation is crucial when speaking Japanese. Practice speaking aloud and pay attention to intonation patterns. Locals will appreciate your efforts even if you make mistakes! By taking the time to learn key phrases in Japanese, not only will you be able to navigate Japan more easily but also have richer interactions with its people and culture. Embrace the Unusual Japan is a country that embraces the unusual and celebrates its quirkiness. When exploring the rich cultural heritage of Japan, it’s important to keep an open mind and be willing to embrace those things that may seem strange or unfamiliar at first. One way to truly experience the unusual side of Japan is by visiting its themed cafes. From cat cafes where you can sip your coffee while cuddling adorable felines, to owl cafes where you can interact with these majestic creatures up close, there are endless options for animal lovers. Another unique aspect of Japanese culture is their love for vending machines. You’ll find them on practically every street corner, offering everything from hot meals and drinks to fresh flowers and even underwear! Embrace this convenience and try purchasing something unexpected from one of these futuristic machines. For a truly memorable experience, consider staying in a traditional ryokan or capsule hotel. These accommodations offer a glimpse into traditional Japanese living or provide a cozy space in which you can sleep inside your own personal pod. Don’t forget to explore some of Japan’s more eccentric festivals as well. From the Naked Festival (Hadaka Matsuri) where participants brave cold temperatures wearing only loincloths, to Kanamara Matsuri, also known as the “Penis Festival,” there are plenty of opportunities for unforgettable experiences! In 2025, Zetter Hotels will open “The Zetter Bloomsbury” in London.

The Zetter Bloomsbury has been announced as the newest opening by Zetter Hotels, the vivacious hotel chain with award-winning locations all around London. It is scheduled to debut in early 2025. The Zetter Bloomsbury, the first Zetter hotel to open in ten years, will usher in a new era for Zetter Hotels and a new stage in the brand’s evolution. The Zetter Townhouse in Marylebone, The Zetter Townhouse in Clerkenwell, and The Marrable’s Hotel in Clerkenwell (formerly The Zetter Hotel in Clerkenwell) are all part of the Zetter Hotels chain. The exquisite, current hotels will change their names to “The Zetter Marylebone” and “The Zetter Clerkenwell” with the opening of The Zetter Bloomsbury. The Zetter Bloomsbury, a 72-room hotel with suites, situated in the center of London, close to Russell Square, and enjoys a prime location with views of the British Museum. The hotel will combine six 300-year-old townhouses and represent enduring imperfection. The hotel will be distinguished and majestic but yet feel cozy, inviting, and inhabited. CEO of Orca Holding Laith Pharaon is introducing the property. Laith has hired the renowned James Thurstan Waterworth, founder of Thurstan and former European Design Director of Soho House, to manage the hotel’s exquisite interiors. “With the addition of The Zetter Bloomsbury, we are focused on growing the Zetter Hotels portfolio, becoming a timeless group, and being viewed as one of the world’s most talked-about accommodations,” says Laith Pharaon, CEO of Orca Holding. The Zetter Bloomsbury will be no different from the other Zetter hotels in their quest to revolutionize the boutique hotel idea by providing true homes-away-from-homes, distinctive character, and an elegant mix of decor throughout. The Bradley Hare in Wiltshire and Masseria Pistola in Puglia are just a couple of the successful openings that James Thurstan Waterworth, an interior designer, is responsible for. He aims to create eclectic, unique interiors that blend in with the surrounding architecture. The structure will have ancient reclaimed flooring and authentic detailing because it is a genuine Georgian townhouse. In order to give the hotel a cozy, homey feel, James Thurstan Waterworth of Thurstan says that layers of vintage furniture and textiles were used in the design. We want our customers to think of the hotel as a well-loved, long-standing hidden gem. When guests arrive at the hotel, they are met with a cocktail in hand by one of Zetter’s skilled mixologists in “The Sitting Room,” the hotel’s cozy bar area. Here, the formality of the check-in desk does not exist. The Larder, a private eating space for 20–40 people, will be located on the lower level. The Drawing Room, a calmer room for guests to unwind, will be located next to The Sitting Room. The Pantry will serve as a second bar for visitors. Guests can take in the serene terrace and gardens of the hotel while sipping on a beverage in “The Sitting Room.” The gardens will provide a calm area with secluded nooks for visitors to spend time away from the noise and bustle of the city thanks to landscaping work done by “Rich Landscapes.” A BBQ will also be included in the gardens with the intention of hosting several scrumptious summer feasts and chef pop-ups there. The hotel’s breakfast area, called “The Orangery,” has a bar for year-round dining. This is a beautiful and unspoiled setting where visitors may take advantage of the light and views of the nearby gardens thanks to glass windows and a cozy fireplace. The 72 guest rooms and suites at the hotel will each make an effort to be distinctive in some manner, with tastefully chosen Georgian antiques, oak furniture, Victorian upholstery, and fading Persian and Turkish rugs to make the spaces seem cozy. The Georgian pastel shades of pink, together with blue and green eggshell, will be used to decorate the bedrooms, making them wonderfully peaceful. Eight spacious suites that are distributed across the hotel’s bedrooms offer four-poster beds, freestanding bathtubs, bay windows, and fireplaces with views of the gardens of the British Museum. The remaining bedrooms will be smaller but still have lovely paneling and half tester beds. All bedrooms will feature custom lights, antique bedside tables, and artwork from Asia and Africa in addition to British pieces from the 20th century, as an homage to the hotel’s location next to the British Museum. The team will incorporate internal and external lighting controls, energy-efficient lighting, and energy-efficient heating and cooling systems to deliver hot water because sustainability is important to Zetter Hotels. The team will properly source materials and keep up the excellent waste reduction and recycling programs currently in place at the present Zetter Hotels. The world’s top science-based suite of validation and certification methods for a sustainable built environment, BREEAM, is the goal of the Zetter team. A pure and organic British fragrance line for the bath, body, and home called VERDEN will also be featured by Zetter Hotels. The Zetter Bloomsbury will be the first hotel to collaborate with VERDEN. VERDEN is a Danish word that directly translates to “the world” or “the earth.” The hotel also includes plans for a pavilion for outdoor yoga. Zetter Hotels are well known for their exclusivity, elegance, and vivacity. The team’s commitment to developing innovative and distinctive drinks that put taste above all else and explode with flavor with each sip is what truly distinguishes Zetter Hotels. Additionally, the hotel will provide artists and craftspeople a place to experience British culture thanks to its special location next to the British Museum. The debut of The Zetter Bloomsbury will boost the company’s already stellar reputation while also offering both residents and foreign tourists a delightful new haven in the center of London. In response to diplomatic difficulties, a Canadian Minister postpones a commercial visit to India

In light of difficult diplomatic relations, Canadian commercial Minister Mary Ng postpones a commercial mission to India. At the G20 summit, PM Modi ignored PM Trudeau of Canada. Trade negotiations between India and Canada have been suspended. An official announced on Friday that Canadian Trade Minister Mary Ng has postponed a trade mission to India scheduled for October, reflecting the deteriorating diplomatic ties between the two countries. Days earlier, at the G20 conference in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reprimanded his Canadian counterpart. According to a Reuters story, the minister’s spokesperson, Shanti Cosentino, said, “At this time, we are postponing the upcoming trade mission to India.” Justin Trudeau, the prime minister of Canada, was ignored by PM Modi, who attended official bilateral talks with many other foreign leaders during the G20 conference, and only allowed a quick, informal meeting on the sidelines five days ago. The country has been the scene of numerous rallies that have displeased India. Canada has the greatest number of Sikhs outside of their own state of Punjab in India. The Indian government declared following the leaders’ meeting that “they are promoting secessionism and inciting violence against Indian diplomats, damaging diplomatic premises and threatening the Indian community in Canada and their places of worship.” India announced on Friday that it has postponed trade negotiations with Canada. Earlier this month, Canada announced a similar delay, citing the need to “take stock,” according to Reuters. The two countries just stated their intention to sign an initial trade agreement this year roughly four months ago. The free trade agreement (FTA) talks between India and Canada, which were restarted after a decade, have meantime ceased because of political concerns. The official stated that talks will restart after the “political issues” have been settled without specifically mentioning the Khalistan issue, which caused friction between the two nations. India voiced its disapproval of a number of Canadian political moves. We have temporarily suspended negotiations till these political difficulties are resolved because India has expressed its displeasure with some recent political developments in Canada, the official added. The countries have already had more than six rounds of negotiations on the trade agreement. The Early Progress Trade Agreement (EPTA) negotiations between the two nations were restarted in March 2022. There is now no wait period for visa processing, according to a recent notification from the US Embassy in Mumbai. The embassy processed nearly 9 lakh non-immigrant visas in the past month alone, and it expects to reach the one million level soon.
