Emirates and Maldivian have formed an interline relationship.

Emirates and Maldivian have recently established an interline cooperation, facilitating Emirates’ clientele in gaining access to a selection of 16 prominent vacation locations located in the Maldives, extending beyond the capital city of Malé. The deal effectively builds upon the previous year’s execution of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two airlines, with the aim of investigating potential avenues for collaborative endeavors.

The interline agreement between Emirates and the Maldivian archipelago will offer additional travel alternatives to passengers. This arrangement allows customers to utilize the services and networks of both airlines on a single ticket, hence improving the overall customer experience throughout their voyage.

Customers who are planning to visit exotic island destinations in the Maldives can now enjoy the advantage of accessing more popular holiday areas by conveniently and smoothly connecting from Velana International Airport located in the North Malé atoll. Emirates travellers will have the opportunity to access Maldivian’s services in order to reach various domestic destinations for their vacation on the islands.

Starting from the 15th of September, individuals have the opportunity to make travel arrangements through emirates.com, the Emirates mobile application, or their chosen travel agents, in order to secure flights that are currently available. According to Adnan Kazim, the Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, the airline is pleased to announce a collaboration with Maldivian in order to enhance its presence in additional destinations inside the Maldives. Through establishing a collaborative alliance with the national airline of Maldives, we are able to provide our esteemed clientele with seamless travel options, facilitating convenient connections to a diverse array of islands within the country, with Malé serving as a central hub. By expanding this supplementary advantage, our clientele hailing from the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and the Americas are able to strategically organize their trip to the Maldives by conveniently reserving flights through a unified ticketing system, thereby facilitating their arrival at the ultimate destination.

Ibrahim Hamdhan Mohamed, the General Manager – Commercial at Maldivian, expressed enthusiasm in commencing this venture alongside Emirates, a prominent global leader in the aviation industry. This collaboration will facilitate the enhancement of our comprehensive national network’s prominence, which is in perfect alignment with our goal of delivering uninterrupted access to passengers. Customers will have the convenience of being able to efficiently plan and book their entire journey straight through the airline. As the designated flag carrier, our constant endeavor is to enhance the accessibility of Maldives for global tourists. We firmly assert that our collaboration with Emirates will fortify our standing as the foremost airline in the Maldives.

Emirates customers have the option to travel to various airports located in a range of popular atolls through Malé. These airports include Dharavandhoo Island (DRV), Faresmathoda Airport (FMT), Funadhoo Airport (FND), Fuvahmulak Island Airport (FVM), Gan Island International (GAN), Kooddoo Island (GKK), Hanimaadhoo Island Airport (HAQ), Kulhudhuffushi Airport (HDK), Hoarafushi Airport (HRF), Kaadedhdhoo Island Airport (KDM), Kadhdhoo Island (KDO), Madivaru Airport (LMV), Maafaru International Airport (NMF), Maavarulu Airport (RUL), Thimarafushi Airport (TMF), and Ifuru (IFU).

Additionally, patrons who choose to spend their vacations at alternative resort islands can also benefit from the ease of accessing the nearest interline network point, thereby reducing the distance to their ultimate destination through a brief seaplane or boat journey. As the collaboration between the two airlines progresses, additional advantages and conveniences will be incorporated to augment the customer journey when traveling to the Maldives.

For over thirty-five years, Emirates has provided support for the advancement and expansion of both tourism and trade in the Maldives. The globally recognized airline, which has received prestigious awards, initiated its services to Malé in the year 1987. Presently, it operates a total of 28 flights per week between Dubai and the Maldives. Emirates offers customers the convenience of selecting from a total of four daily flights to Malé. This extensive flight schedule allows customers from Emirates’ vast network of nearly 140 destinations to have the option of choosing flights that suit their preferences. Additionally, customers may benefit from the advantage of minimal connection times, thus enhancing their travel experience.

Emirates possesses an extensive global presence, facilitated by its 29 codeshare agreements, 11 Intermodal partnerships, and 117 interline partnerships. This expansive network enables Emirates to reach destinations beyond its own flight routes, hence enhancing connectivity and providing easy travel alternatives for passengers.
